Cub Scout Information
(what to bring, not bring, Day Camp Code of Conduct)
General Information
We are very excited to offer, for the first time in Wisdom Trail
history, Tiger Cub only
Twilight Camp! Tiger Cubs are boys who have just finished
Kindergarten. The difference in this camp and regular day camp is
that the Tiger Cub must be accompanied at all times by his adult
Tiger partner (mom, dad or an adult 21+ years of age.)
So……Stretch those muscles, practice your long jumps! It’s time for
Wisdom Trail’s Cub
Olympians
Tiger Cub Twilight Camp! Twilight Camp will take
place Tuesday, June10th through Thursday, June 12th,
2008. Twilight Camp will be held at Camp Wisdom Scout
Camp, 6400 Red Bird Lane, Dallas. Take the Cedar Ridge exit off
I-20 and travel north. Turn left on Red Bird Lane; Camp Wisdom will
be on your left.
Opening
ceremonies will begin each evening at 6:00pm at the flagpole next to
the parking lot. Closing ceremonies will also be at the flagpole at
8:30 pm
This year, due to all districts going through the council for
t-shirts and patches, registration must be turned in earlier than in
years past. Also ALL registration MUST go through your packs Day
Camp Coordinator. INDIVIDUAL REGISTRATIONS WLL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
For costs see the registration form. You will note that the first
registration will be due May 9, 2008 Fees include all the
activities of Twilight Camp, a T-shirt, a Day Camp Patch (which will
be distributed the last day of day camp) Registrations
received after May 26th are not guaranteed to receive
Camp T-shirts or patches. Fees paid for Twilight Camp are
non-refundable and are not pro-rated based on the number of days a
Scout attends Twilight Camp. Registrations will be accepted by Pack
at the Cub Scout Roundtables at The Grace Place, Duncanville Church
of Christ, 402 W. Danieldale, Duncanville.
Tiger Cub Adult partners will receive one Camp T-shirt at no
additional cost. Extra T-shirts may be ordered by anyone for an
additional $8.00 per shirt. T-shirts will be issued to a Pack
representative at the time of the swim tests for regular Day Camp.
There will be no need for swim testing for Tiger Cub Scouts or adult
partners attending Twilight Camp ONLY. Time and date
will be announced at the May Roundtable as well as online at
www.wisdomtrail.org and by
e-mail to Cubmasters. Please watch for this announcement.
Day Camp t-shirts must be worn everyday by everyone attending,
volunteering or staffing Day Camp. This is for identification and
safety purposes. Everyone (parent, grandparent, etc.) who visits for
a couple hours or the entire day must sign in at Headquarters to
receive a visitors ID badge and submit required paperwork. Any
Camper or staff person who does not have a Day Camp T-shirt must
also check in at Headquarters and receive an ID badge.
Medication that is to be taken while at camp needs to be in a
Ziplock bag clearly labeled with name, unit number and when to take
the medication. Medication must be in an original prescription
container. All medication will be kept at the First Aid Center and
dispensed by the Camp Nurse. Any exceptions must be cleared through
the Camp Directors.
If your
camper has any special physical, medical or emotional needs PLEASE
note this on their Health form as well as speak with Debie Franz or
Sharon Coleman. Our goal is for everyone to have a memorable
experience while at camp and we must be made aware of special needs
in advance.
All Registration
and Health& Medical Forms are to be kept at Headquarters/First Aid
Center for quick access in the event of an emergency.
